CQC Failures Continue
We did quick spot check of a care home recently inspected by CQC and rated inadequate, the CQC narrative proudly announces that ” The CQC have acted to protect people” But our investigation took thirty minutes to uncover some key facts.
The care home, Royal Court in Barnsley was downgraded from, requires improvement, to inadequate. We agree that the care in this home is appalling, we do not agree that this is something newly discovered by CQC.

For nearly ten years the vulnerable people in this home have suffered, and yet the CQC proudly announce in a press release that they have acted to protect the people in this home by rating it inadequate. The CQC will have made the same boast ten years ago. If someone vulnerable lived in this home for a decade, they will not during all that time have experienced good care. This is appalling and CQC need to be held to account for consistently failing to act.
